A D.C. federal judge on Thursday handed a quick win to the National Marine Fisheries Service in a suit challenging its bycatch reporting methodology, ruling that the service has established sufficient standardized methods that meet the requirements of the Magnuson-Stevens Act.

The National Marine Fisheries Service told a D.C. federal judge Friday that a suit challenging its bycatch reporting methodology should be tossed, since the court has already upheld most of the challenged aspects and the agency has thoroughly reviewed its methodology as ordered by the D.C. Circuit.
