Trinidad and Tobago and a Venezuelan aluminum manufacturer have moved closer to settling the company's attempt to partly nix an international arbitration award of more than $2 million but need more time, the parties told a Florida federal court Friday.

Sural Barbados Ltd.'s bid to partly nix an over $2 million arbitral award concerning a canceled aluminum project is a "frivolous" attempt to relitigate issues simply because the manufacturer lost the dispute, Trinidad and Tobago told a Florida federal court Tuesday.
