MLB Recommends Extended Safety Nets In Stadiums
Major League Baseball Commissioner Rob Manfred on Wednesday recommended that all 30 teams extend the protective netting behind home plate at their stadiums to better protect fans from batted balls and flying bats, as the league faces a nationwide class action over the issue in California federal court.

MLB Says Risks From Foul Balls, Flung Bats Fall On Fans
Major League Baseball has urged a California federal court to dismiss a proposed class action alleging it fails to protect spectators from foul balls and bat injuries, arguing that it openly discloses the risk and that the lead plaintiff has never been injured in a ballpark.
