Amazon Applicant Blasts 'Pick Off' Bid In FCRA Class Action
A man claiming he didn't get an Amazon warehouse job because of a false conviction turned up in his background check asked an Illinois federal judge Wednesday to strike the retailer's offer of judgment in his proposed Fair Credit Reporting Act class action, calling it an attempt to "pick off" a potential class representative.

A man claiming he was shot down for a warehouse job with Amazon because of a false cocaine conviction on his background check moved for class certification in his Fair Credit Reporting Act suit in California federal court Thursday against the online retailer as well as the company that provided the bogus information.

Amazon Can't Escape Class Action Over Background Checks
An Illinois federal judge on Wednesday refused to let Amazon off the hook for allegations that the company fails to inform rejected applicants of poor marks on their background checks, though the judge expressed skepticism that the class action would go much further, as the lead plaintiff remains vulnerable to being "picked off" by the online retailer.
