Cigna has voluntarily dismissed its complaint against an Orrick Herrington & Sutcliffe LLP attorney who the insurer had accused of filing hundreds of thousands of dollars in false insurance claims, with the parties opting for mediation, according to a Tuesday filing in Virginia federal court.

Cigna Health & Life Insurance Co. sued an Orrick Herrington & Sutcliffe LLP attorney for fraud Monday, saying he filed hundreds of thousands of dollars in false medical insurance claims on behalf of his son, money that was used to pay for a Cadillac Escalade and other perks.
