A California federal judge on Monday signed off on a nearly $1.8 million settlement between ride-hailing giant Uber and a proposed class of Golden State app users who were charged separate fees for rides to and from airports that weren't actually passed on to airports.

Uber Technologies Inc. will refund California users nearly $1.8 million to settle a class action brought by riders to and from airports who paid extra fees that were not passed on to the airports, the customers said Friday.
