A federal judge on Thursday refused the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission's bid to alter a judgment tossing its suit alleging a Dallas medical center failed to accommodate an injured employee, saying the agency didn't show a policy of requiring disabled employees to compete with nondisabled applicants ran afoul of a federal law.

A Texas federal judge on Friday tossed the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission's suit alleging a Dallas medical center failed to accommodate an injured employee by refusing her request to take a different job, saying the agency failed to show she was capable of appearing for work when she made the request.
