Fledgling music streaming site Aurous agreed to pay $3 million to a group of major record labels, including Sony and Atlantic Records, as part of a settlement that will permanently shutter the company following allegations that it encouraged listeners to stream and download pirated music.

A group of record labels including Sony and Warner Bros. on Tuesday sued a music service so new its website is barely up and running for creating a music app that allegedly encourages listeners to stream and download pirated music from overseas servers.
