Univision Seeks Sanctions From Film Co., Attys In IP Row
Univision Television Group Inc. moved Monday for sanctions against a film company and its lawyers, saying in Utah federal court that they had been unable to provide any evidence that Univision ever broadcast a movie that the company claimed was a rip-off of one of its films.

Univision Beats Copyright Suit Over Danny Trejo Films
A Utah federal judge on Wednesday tossed a suit lodged by a filmmaker accusing Univision and its El Rey Network of ripping off his 2006 indie film by broadcasting the 2010 Danny Trejo film "Machete," saying the films' similar plot lines and same lead actor don't warrant protection.
