Grocer's Breach Liability Shouldn't Have Cap, 8th Circ. Told
A pair of payment processors on Monday urged the Eight Circuit to reverse a ruling that Schnuck Markets' liability for a 2013 data breach is limited to $500,000, arguing that the lower court's determination turned them into "unwilling and uncompensated insurers" of the grocer's data security.
