A Mississippi casino lost a bid Tuesday to dismiss a lawsuit brought by bankrupt law firm Morris Schneider Wittstadt LLC over a former partner who gambled away more than $1.5 million from a firm trust.

Morris Schneider Wittstadt LLC fought Friday to keep alive its suit against a Mississippi casino where a former partner of the defunct law firm's gambled away more than $1.5 million, arguing the casino should have refused money funneled from a firm trust.

Bankrupt Atlanta-based law firm Morris Schneider Wittstadt LLC filed a lawsuit Thursday against the owner of the Beau Rivage Resort & Casino to recover more than $1.5 million a former partner allegedly embezzled from the firm and gambled at the Biloxi, Mississippi, casino.
