A California federal judge on Wednesday rejected a group of Chanel employees' bid for certification of a nationwide class in a suit alleging they were forced to work overtime and without breaks, ruling the workers didn't show evidence of wage violations at stores besides their own.

A group of Chanel Inc. workers on Thursday urged a California federal court to certify their proposed class action, accusing the luxury fashion company of forcing those in its shipping departments to work unpaid overtime and without breaks, saying workers nationwide were subject to the same illegal treatment.
