Target Data Breach Deal Favors Few Consumers, 8th Circ. Told
An objector to a $10 million deal to let Target Corp. out of multidistrict litigation over a notorious 2013 data breach asked the Eighth Circuit on Wednesday to vacate the settlement, saying the single settlement class did not adequately represent a large number of consumers.

Consumers in multidistrict litigation who settled with Target Corp. for $10 million over a notorious 2013 data breach urged the Eighth Circuit on Thursday to disregard an objector's claim that the deal created interclass conflict that left a significant number of people without compensation, saying it ignored the facts.
