A California federal judge said Tuesday that she was inclined to preliminarily approve two settlements totaling $33.5 million that would resolve lawsuits accusing a solar energy company and Alarm.com Inc. of violating the Telephone Consumer Protection Act, but she expressed reservations about aspects of the deals.

Sunrun Inc. will pay $5.5 million to settle a putative class action in California federal court accusing the solar company of placing unsolicited telemarketer calls to numbers on the National Do Not Call Registry.
