A Canadian tribal-owned cigarette maker struck a deal to settle its allegations that a distributor and two individuals flouted its trademark rights by reselling Seneca brand cigarettes past their expiration date, according to a Georgia federal court document filed Monday.

A Georgia federal judge on Monday granted a Canadian tribal-owned cigarette maker's bid to block the resale of a seized batch of its Seneca brand cigarettes, saying a distributor's peddling of the smokes years past their expiration date could violate the company's trademark rights.
