Burberry on Friday won out of a suit brought by a proposed class of shoppers who claim the luxury retailer's outlet stores misled them into believing they were purchasing goods at a bargain, as a New York federal judge ruled the consumers did not suffer an actual injury.

Popular outlet brands Burberry, Dooney & Bourke, The Children's Place and New York & Co. were all hit Thursday with proposed class actions in New York and California federal court by customers claiming the retailers' alleged discount prices are nothing more than "phantom savings" intended to trick consumers into purchases.
