A Massachusetts federal judge on Friday allowed Harvard a quick win in a gender discrimination suit filed by a former student who said the university was indifferent to her claims of sexual abuse, harassment and retaliation after she reported the alleged abuse more than three years ago.

Harvard University is looking to halt a lawsuit brought by a former student who says the school was indifferent to her claims of sexual abuse and harassment, with the university arguing it took numerous steps to ensure her safety when the complaints were raised more than three years ago.
