A legal malpractice insurer suing Stevens & Lee PC for allegedly failing to disclose a significant lawsuit risk asked a Pennsylvania federal judge Friday to reject the law firm's request to pause the suit, saying the dispute has little overlap with a case the practice says is related.

Stevens & Lee PC urged a Pennsylvania federal judge Thursday to pause its dispute with Westport Insurance Co. over a $10 million malpractice policy while an underlying suit accusing an ex-partner of giving bad advice to bankrupt AgFeed Industries Inc. plays out, so as to avoid prejudice, the firm said.
