DOJ Sues LA Times Owner To Block Newspaper Buy
The U.S. Department of Justice on Thursday sued the Tribune Publishing Co., owner of the Los Angeles Times, seeking to block its proposed acquisition of the bankrupt owner of the Orange County Register and the Riverside County Press-Enterprise, saying the proposed deal would give Tribune Publishing a monopoly in Southern California.
