USPTO Wins Dispute Over Extension For Drug Patent
The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office beat a suit accusing it of failing to adequately extend the life of a blood pressure drug patent when a Virginia federal judge ruled Tuesday that Supernus Pharmaceuticals Inc. had itself dragged out its application process, cutting into its patent time.

USPTO Added Too Little Time To Supernus Patent, Suit Says
The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office did not extend the life of a patent for the pulmonary arterial hypertension drug Orenitram long enough after it took too long to consider Supernus Pharmaceuticals Inc.'s revised patent application for it, the company said in a suit Monday in Virginia federal court.
