    Fannie Mae Shareholders Want 2nd Chance In Deloitte Suit

    Shareholders in Fannie Mae who sued Deloitte & Touche LLP for allegedly botching its audits of the mortgage firm in the lead-up to the financial crisis and its 2008 takeover by the U.S. government asked a Florida federal judge Wednesday to reconsider his decision to freeze them out of the lawsuit, saying he mistakenly concluded that their claims were barred.

    The Federal Housing Finance Agency took over from Fannie Mae shareholders as the plaintiff in a lawsuit against auditing firm Deloitte & Touche LLP over mortgage-crisis losses after a Florida federal judge found that FHFA, as the conservator of government-sponsored Fannie Mae, has the sole power to bring any claims.
