A class of consumers urged a New Jersey federal judge on Tuesday not to dismiss their lawsuit alleging Toys R Us Inc. sells unsafe goods online, saying the company's attempt to absolve it of liability constitutes informational injury under the U.S. Supreme Court's Spokeo ruling.

Toys R Us and Bed Bath & Beyond are trying to squeak by consumer complaints for selling substandard or dangerous products with online contracts that violate New Jersey law, according to a pair of similar proposed class actions filed Wednesday.
