A lawyer representing a former Gilead Sciences recruiter in her harassment and gender discrimination lawsuit against the company on Thursday pushed back on a recent disqualification bid, saying letters she sent to a company lawyer with information from a separate settlement deal didn't constitute an ethical breach.

Gilead Sciences on Friday urged a California federal court to disqualify an independent attorney and Dickson Geesman LLP from representing a former recruiter accusing the biopharmaceutical company of harassment and gender discrimination, arguing the entire case is based on a confidential settlement with another worker the attorney represented.
