A California federal judge on Thursday trimmed a proposed class action alleging Goya duped customers by selling canned octopus products that actually contained cheaper jumbo squid parts, saying some of the allegations don't stand up but allowing a consumer to revise the lacking claims.

Goya on Wednesday found itself wrapped up in a proposed class action brought by a consumer who claims the food manufacturer has been tricking customers by selling canned octopus products that in reality contain cheaper jumbo squid parts, according to a complaint filed in California federal court.
