An environmental group committed to protecting the Delaware River basin urged a Pennsylvania federal judge on Tuesday to allow it to intervene in a case challenging a moratorium on hydraulic fracturing currently enforced by the Delaware River Basin Commission.

A Pennsylvania- and New Jersey-based environmental group Wednesday attacked a recent Pennsylvania federal court suit challenging components of a moratorium on fracking in the Delaware River watershed, saying the Delaware River Basin Commission had clear authority to regulate gas well pads in areas under its jurisdiction.
