A pair of Avis Budget Car Rental LLC supervisors who were named in a proposed class action accusing the company of racial discrimination asked a Mississippi federal judge Thursday to dismiss them from the suit, arguing the Civil Rights Act doesn't allow claims against individuals.

An Avis Budget Car Rental LLC agent is seeking at least $5 million from the company in a putative class action that alleges it violated federal law by discriminating against her and other African-Americans working at Mississippi's Jackson-Medgar Wiley Evers International Airport because of their race.
