$6M Shipbuilding Award Not Maritime Enough, Judge Says
A Texas federal judge dismissed a suit brought by a Singapore commodities firm over a $6 million arbitral award against the would-be buyer of ships the firm was having built, saying Tuesday the parties' deal lacked the maritime element necessary for jurisdiction — the same reason an "identical" suit was tossed last month.

Commodities Co. Gets $12M Garnishment To Fulfill Award
A Texas federal judge on Thursday granted a commodities merchant an up to $12 million garnishment to help ensure a London-based arbitral tribunal’s award against a shipping and logistics firm that was found in breach of two charter agreements for failing to deposit money into an escrow account.
