The Museum of Science and Industry on Monday settled with famed auto engineer and speed driver Craig Breedlove over allegations the museum damaged his "Spirit of America" jet car in the 50 years it was on loan to the MSI.

The Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago cannot get out of a lawsuit claiming it caused damage to the Spirit of America, a car designed and built by Craig Breedlove to break the world speed record, after he lent it to the museum, an Illinois federal judge ruled on Thursday.
