A California federal judge has dismissed a $100 million copyright infringement suit brought by two screenwriters accusing the Christian film studio behind the 2014 hit indie film "God's Not Dead" of ripping off their script, saying the works weren't substantially similar.

Two writers hit Pure Flix Entertainment LLC with a copyright-infringement suit Monday in California federal court accusing the Christian film company of ripping off their idea with "God's Not Dead," an independent movie that has grossed more than $140 million.
