CBS Broadcasting Inc. won summary judgment Wednesday in a defamation suit by a West Virginia doctor who said that his oxycodone prescribing practices were depicted unfairly in two "CBS Evening News" broadcasts.

A physician was sentenced in West Virginia federal court on Wednesday to 20 years in prison for prescribing oxycodone, a painkiller, to patients without properly determining their need for pain pills.
