A California federal judge on Wednesday issued a permanent stipulated injunction that effectively shutters the business of a bot designer accused of selling users software that artificially boosts their viewer numbers on Twitch Interactive, a video game streaming site owned by Amazon.com Inc.

Twitch Interactive, an Amazon.com Inc.-owned video game live-streaming and social media site, is taking aim against bots, or software designed to mimic habits of actual users, by lobbing a federal lawsuit in California alleging trademark infringement and other claims against the most active sellers.
