An events promoter facing a federal suit for allegedly violating a noncompete agreement and hijacking the idea to organize and promote the Philadelphia Cheesesteak Festival filed a third-party suit Friday making claims to the rightful ownership of the relevant trademarks and arguing that the underlying contract was invalid.

A promoter involved in last year's inaugural Philadelphia Cheesesteak Festival has been slapped with a federal suit alleging that they hijacked the event — in violation of a noncompete agreement — from its rightful owners as preparations began for the event's second year.
