An Idaho federal judge on Monday denied a bid by environmental group the Alliance for the Wild Rockies to block the U.S. Forest Service's plan to allow old-growth logging on land burned by wildfires, saying smart logging of burnt timber can help fund reforestation and make those efforts safer.
