Richard and a consumer agreed Thursday to dismiss a putative class action against the retailer in New Jersey federal court, after telling a judge this week that the parties had reached a tentative deal over claims the company unlawfully printed credit or debit card expiration dates on sales receipts.

P.C. Richard on Monday urged a New Jersey federal court to dismiss a proposed class action over the electronics retailer allegedly including the expiration date of shoppers' credit cards on receipts, arguing the claims are either preempted by Fair and Accurate Credit Transactions Act or fail entirely.
