A California jury on Wednesday sided with three companies in a toxic tort trial, rejecting a mother's claims for $23 million in damages due to her son's alleged in utero exposure to chemicals when she worked on a berry farm, a defendant's law firm said.

Aspen Specialty Insurance Co. on Tuesday told a California federal judge that it doesn't have a duty to indemnify a farm in a worker's underlying lawsuit alleging her son was injured in utero by exposure to pesticides, saying the incident falls under the policy's pollution exclusion.
