Enterprise Rent-a-Car and one of its customers have resolved a proposed class action claiming the company refused to refund charges for a toll violation despite receiving proof he had paid the toll with his E-ZPass, according to an agreement filed Wednesday in New Jersey federal court.

A New Jersey federal judge on Thursday allowed a putative class action against an Enterprise Holdings Inc. unit to move forward on the theory that the rental car company had refused to refund charges against a customer for a toll violation after receiving proof that he paid the toll with his E-ZPass tag.

Enterprise Holdings Inc. has been slapped with a putative class action in New Jersey federal court alleging that the rental car company improperly charged customers for tolls and related administrative fees after the motorists already paid for the tolls by using their personal E-ZPass tags.
