Teachers Claim Their Federal Grants Illegally Became Loans
A Pennsylvania-based student loan servicer has been improperly converting federal teaching grants into loans for its own financial gain in violation of the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act, according to two teachers who filed a proposed class action against the company Friday in Ohio federal court.
