An Eastern Texas federal judge transferred an infringement suit to Northern California on Tuesday, granting a motion by West Coast-based computer security company Barracuda Networks Inc. after finding that litigation over four data compression technology patents should proceed in a location more convenient for witnesses.

Texas Judge Nixes Use Of TC Heartland In Data Patents Row
An Eastern District of Texas magistrate judge has recommended denying a motion by computer security company Barracuda Networks Inc. to amend its answer to a patent complaint to argue that the district is an improper venue for the case, saying that would be “unduly prejudicial” to the patent owner.
