A West Virginia federal judge on Wednesday ruled that a Liberty Mutual unit has no duty to defend or indemnify a firing range in a pair of noise complaint suits, finding that the suits don't trigger any of the provisions in the range's policies.

Insurer Liberty Corporate Capital Ltd. asked a West Virginia federal court Friday to let it off the hook in a noise complaint suit against a firing range it insures, saying the range's policy doesn't cover that type of suit.
