CMS Seeks Toss Of Nurses' Pain Care Reimbursement Row
Certified registered nurse anesthetists suing the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services and a government contractor for denying reimbursement for a pain management procedure should have their case thrown out because they have not exhausted their administrative remedies, the government told an Illinois federal court Wednesday.

A new Medicare policy denying reimbursement to nurses for providing chronic pain management flies in the face of federal regulations and was enacted unconstitutionally, according to a lawsuit filed by the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists on Tuesday in Illinois federal court.
