A Mexican nut distributor sought Friday to revamp its claims that a pecan wholesaler tricked into transferring payments to a hacker still owes the distributor roughly $1.5 million, telling a Texas federal judge the revised allegations address issues the wholesaler raised in seeking to shake the suit.

A pecan wholesaler told a Texas federal judge on Thursday that it does not owe $1.5 million to a Mexican nut distributor after allegedly transferring payments meant for the distributor to a third-party hacker who changed the wiring instructions via email, saying it had no idea it had paid a hacker.

A Mexico-based nut distributor says a Texas-based pecan wholesaler owes it more than $1.5 million in damages for allegedly continuing to accept product shipments and wire payments to a third-party hacker who broke into the distributor's account and changed the wiring instructions, according to a Wednesday complaint in Texas federal court.
