A California woman who launched a proposed class action against Vitamin Shoppe Inc. last month has dropped her claims that the company sold ineffective weight loss supplements that were misleadingly labeled, her lawyers said Monday.

A proposed class of consumers launched a lawsuit against Vitamin Shoppe Inc. in California federal court Tuesday accusing the company of selling weight-loss supplements consisting of ingredients scientifically proven to be ineffective and labeled in a misleading fashion.
