Navistar is no longer facing Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act claims in a lawsuit over buses with allegedly defective diesel engines and brakes after a Louisiana bus company agreed to drop most of its claims, a federal judge said on Tuesday.

A Louisiana bus company can't proceed with its Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act lawsuit claiming Navistar sold it buses with defective diesel engines and brakes, Navistar said Monday, arguing that the amended complaint is "essentially identical" to one that was thrown out of Illinois federal court in December.
