A nonprofit that provides job training and employment services to the blind on Friday asked a D.C. federal judge to stop the Veterans Affairs Administration from canceling its contract worth roughly $10 million annually for plastic products, pending the outcome of a challenge to a rule requiring the VA to prioritize veteran-owned businesses.

A trio of nonprofits that work to secure employment opportunities for the blind filed a lawsuit Wednesday against the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs in D.C. federal court over a new rule it says will prioritize veteran-owned businesses in procurement over businesses employing blind people.
