A Seventh Circuit panel on Tuesday wrestled with the prospect of overturning for a second time a lower court's $87,500 fee award to an attorney fired before a man accepted a $250,000 settlement in his hip-replacement case, expressing concerns that the parties are now spending more money to fight over the award than the fee amount itself.
