A shareholder dropped his proposed class action against Forestar Group Inc. after the company accepted a $568 million buyout proposal from home builder D.R Horton that was higher than the Starwood Capital Group offer that prompted the suit, according to a notice filed in Delaware federal court Wednesday.

Forestar Group Inc. has been hit with a proposed shareholder class action in Delaware federal court alleging the company was undervalued by Starwood Capital Group's proposed $605 million buyout and that the board erred by not seizing on a competing offer by developer D.R. Horton.
