Six pueblos have bested New Mexico in a dispute over the state's attempt to collect millions in additional revenue related to "free play" credits on the tribes' gambling machines, with a federal court permanently enjoining the state from enforcing its claims.

The pueblos of Santa Ana and Santa Clara hit New Mexico officials with a complaint in federal court Thursday in a dispute over revenue sharing under the tribes' gambling deals with the state, joining three other pueblos in seeking to block New Mexico from including free-play gambling credits in calculating what the tribes owe.
