Fed. Court Won't Hear Shumaker Loop IP Malpractice Suit
A Florida federal judge Thursday said that under a 2013 U.S. Supreme Court ruling, he didn't have the jurisdiction to adjudicate a state-law malpractice claim brought by a prosthetics device maker against Shumaker Loop & Kendrick LLP, returning the case to state court.

Prosthetics Maker Says Shumaker Loop Error Cost It $50M
A prosthetics device maker filed suit Friday in Florida federal court against its former law firm, Shumaker Loop & Kendrick LLP, claiming the firm allowed the company's patent dispute to be handled by two lawyers who were not patent attorneys and who cost it over $50 million in losses by bungling the case.
