A Miami federal judge has freed U.S. affiliates of two foreign private banks from a more than $80 million fraud and racketeering suit brought over investments that went south in Brazilian business mogul Eike Batista's OGX, an oil exploration company that plunged into one of Latin America's largest-ever corporate bankruptcies in 2013, according to a decision released Wednesday.
