A lawsuit brought by the city of West Palm Beach, Florida, challenging the federal government's approval of a state road extension it says will cause environmental harm will be moved from Washington, D.C., to Florida, after a D.C. federal judge on Thursday approved the U.S. government's request for the transfer.

Four federal agencies improperly gave the green light to an 8.5-mile Florida road extension project that will harm wildlife in the Everglades and compromise drinking water, the city of West Palm Beach alleged in D.C. federal court on Tuesday.
